The perfect gift isn’t always under the tree…

Single mum Cally’s life is all about her little girl Stella. She’s resigned to the fact that the only romance she’s going to get is from the rom-coms she watches, and with her busy job and her daughter, she doesn’t have time to even think about love.

But life gets very tough when Stella gets sick. Balancing her job as a recipe writer and looking after Stella is all consuming, so when Cally meets handsome baker Jago the last thing she wants to do is fall in love, especially when she’s been badly burned by a Prince Charming from her past. Can laid-back, charming Jago unlock Cally’s frozen heart and help her find true love and magic under the mistletoe?

My Thoughts:
This was such a sweet and loving story.

Cally was such a loving and  genuinely nice person. She was such an easy person to like and you were routing for her from the beginning.

Jago was such a kind man, he had been so badly hurt by Aimee whic he didnt deserve. He was also very patient with Cally and her other priorities.

Stella was the funniest child. I absolutely loved it when she was talking to old people, it was hilarious.

I hated Adam and Aimee but I did think they made the perfect couple.

Ma and hal were great characters but I was a little worried about Ma always leaving things in the wrong place.

I loved Toto the dog and Moses the cat. they had such an odd but sweet relationship.

There are so many characters that play a part in making this such a great book, I loved how the whole village came together to help. Trisha has written another fantastic book.

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Just a quick post to say Merry Christmas to you all and to give an update on my christmas reading challenge.

I managed to exceed my first challenge of 4 books and my second target of 8 books.

I discounted Christmas at Claridge’s by Karen Swan as only a small part of it was at christmas time, it was however a great book.

This leaves a total of 9 Christmas books which I am very happy about.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and get everything you wish for.

Christmas is the season the Gingerbread Café was made for…but owner Lily couldn’t be feeling less merry if she tried. She’s spent another year dreaming of being whisked away on a sleigh-ride for two, but she’s facing festive season alone – again. And, just to give her another reason to feel anything other than candy-cane perky, a new shop across the road has opened… Not only is it selling baked goods, but the owner, with his seriously charming smile, has every girl in town swooning.

But Lily isn’t about to let her business crumble — the Gingerbread Café is the heart of the community, and she’s going to fight for it! This could be the Christmas that maybe, just maybe, all her dreams – even the someone-to-decorate-the-Christmas-tree-with ones – really do come true!

Christmas at the Gingerbread Cafe Banner 450 x 169My Thoughts:
Firstly thank you to Bewitching Blog tour for letting me take part in this blog tour.

I thought Lil is a great character, she is a little damaged but she just wanted to be loved.

Damon is hot! but he is also sweet, kind, caring. An excellent book boyfriend.

Ceecee was the best mum/friend you could ask for. I absolutely loved her. I could do with some of her cakes.

The Gingerbread house in the window sounded amazing. I would love to see one like it.

This is a fun, flirty, Christmas book perfect for fitting in around all the festivities.

This love of books morphed into the desire to write them. She’s been widely published in various short story anthologies, and in fiction magazines, and is now focusing on writing romance. The only downfall about writing about gorgeous men who have brains as well as brawn, is falling in love with them – just as well they’re fictional. Rebecca aims to write characters you can see yourself being friends with. People with big hearts who care about relationships, and most importantly, believe in true love.

Guest Post Tilly Tennant

Today is an exciting day. Today I have my very first guest post from the wonderful Tilly Tennant. Tilly is going to tell us a little about her new book and her inspiration behind the book.

What are the chances?

Every generation has their pop heartthrobs. As a little child, I remember the bedroom walls of my teenage aunt being plastered with posters of David Essex and the Bay City Rollers.  She used to tell me that one day she would marry Woody and I actually believed she would! When I got a little older, it was my turn to stare at posters of Morten Harket on my wall and dream of the day when he would realise that he was actually in love with a fifteen year old from Staffordshire, he just didn’t know it because he hadn’t met me.  Of course, this is all pie in the sky (unless you’re one of a very select and rare few throughout pop history), but just imagine if it were possible.  What if you did meet your idol, the subject of your floaty daydreams?  And what it he did fancy you back?

To meet her idol is all Bonnie dreams of in Hopelessly Devoted.  The trouble is, she’s in her mid thirties with a teenage daughter of her own, Paige, who also shares the same fantasies of meeting young, gorgeous pop heartthrob, Holden Finn. Bonnie has been let down badly by the men in her life in the past, and pouring all her energies into dreaming of a man she can never have seems a safe bet. After all, Holden will never let her down. Holden will always be the impossible, unreachable image of perfection. So there’s no harm in Bonnie’s little daydreams, surely….

Hopelessly Devoted synopsis:
There’s only one man for Bonnie, and that’s Holden Finn. The problem is, Holden Finn a twenty-something pop megastar with his boy band, Every Which Way, who doesn’t even know she exists. Not only that, but half the women of the world want to be Mrs Finn, including Bonnie’s teenage daughter, Paige. But the real men in Bonnie’s life only let her down, and a man you can never have can never let you down… right?  When Paige wins a radio competition to meet Holden and his band, it seems all that is set to change. Bonnie is about to find out that you should be careful what you wish for, and that happiness can come in the most unexpected shape…

Hopelessly Devoted  is due for release January 2014 but you can get your hands on a free copy by entering the Hopelessly Devoted blog giveaway. Not only that, but you’ll also win an exclusive unreleased Christmas novella, Mishaps and Mistletoe, which is only available by entering the draw.

About Tilly:

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset but now lives in Staffordshire with her slightly nutty family. Tilly is married to Mr Tennant (not that one, though a girl can dream). After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by enrolling on a degree in English and creative writing. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books while getting paid for it.

My Thoughts:
This book was fantastic. Karli is such a good writer. She is now in my tops 3 favourite authors.

I was easily drawn back in to April’s world like I had just left her yesterday and I couldn’t have been happier to be back.

I thought Brody was the best brother. He was protective but he also knew what was best for April

Lucy became a really great friend, in this book. I really like her and I seriously wanted Lucy and Brody to be together. I thought they made a really great couple.

Oh I hate Abbie. She is a self centred green eyed bitch. She is clearly used to getting what ever she wants. I thought she got what she deserved.

I was so happy that April and Lukas could still be friends. They clearly had a special relationship and it would have been sad to see them hating each other.

This was an excellent conclusion to the story but I wish it could go on forever. I am really sad that its the end of her story and there will be no more Issac. and April obviously…

I really loved the epilogue and thought  the last few pages were the sweetest.

I love how Karli writing is witty, romantic and in some parts very steamy. I cannot wait to see what’s to come from her next.

mistakes quoteExcerpt:
“Are you ready for desert?”

I sat up, “Oooh, we’re having desert?”

He raised his eyebrow and I immediately understood what that meant.

Communication by eyebrow.

“Ah ha, that kind of desert.”

“If you mean the delicious kind then yes, I’ve heard it’s your favourite.”

“Well you’ve heard right.”

He gave me a cocky grin, “I don’t blame you…it’s just so smooth and creamy.”

Two can play that game.

“I love how it melts in my mouth” I replied, trying to keep a straight face.

“Oh really? I need a demonstration.” He stood up and walked towards the kitchen. A few seconds later, he reappeared holding something behind his back.

“What are you hiding?”

“Your desert, of course.”

I narrowed my eyes, “I’m starting to think that we’ve just been talking about two different things.”

He shook his head and revealed the tub of chocolate body paint.

I laughed, “We are so not doing this.”

“We so are.”

“You’re crazy” I told him.

“Crazy for you.”

“Stop trying to sweet talk me.”

He winked, “Good one, I see what you did there. Sweet talk…chocolate, now take off your clothes.”

“But how will you know if I’m just using you for your chocolate?”

He slowly sauntered towards me, never once taking his eyes away from mine. My heart began to race as he bent down and whispered in my ear, “I’ll take the risk if you take off your clothes.”

Once a respected member of the Sorcerer Council and now an outcast, Blaise has spent the last year of his life working on a special magical object. The goal is to allow anyone to do magic, not just the sorcerer elite. The outcome of his quest is unlike anything he could’ve ever imagined – because, instead of an object, he creates Her.

She is Gala, and she is anything but inanimate. Born in the Spell Realm, she is beautiful and highly intelligent – and nobody knows what she’s capable of.

Augusta, a powerful sorceress, sees Blaise’s deed for the ultimate hubris that it is. She still loves Blaise and wants to save him before he has to pay the ultimate price . . . thanks to the abomination he created.

My Thoughts:
Firstly I would like to thank Dima for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really like Blaise and gala I thought it was great how much he cared for his people. I was really sad about what happened to Louie and how this had tipped him over the edge. Gala was such a sweet girl but she was also very powerful. She clearly cared about people and wanted to help them.

I really didn’t like Augusta. I thought she was selfish and power hungry. She didn’t care about her people or help them like Blaise did. Evey time it was her turn to speak I felt like I was rushing over her words to get to someone I liked.

I quite liked Barson. Even if he was stupid enough to sleep with Augusta. I think he has his own plan to help the people out

I thought this book had a great ending, it really made me smile, I cannot wait for the next book.

Dima holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from NYU and a dual undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Psychology from Brooklyn College. He also has a number of hobbies and interests, the most unusual of which might be professional-level mentalism. He simulates mind-reading on stage and close-up, and has done shows for corporations, wealthy individuals, and friends.

In addition to his own works, Dima has collaborated on a number of romance novels with his wife, Anna Zaires. The Krinar Chronicles, an erotic science fiction series, has been a bestseller in its categories and has been recognized by the likes of Marie Claire and Woman’s Day. If you like erotic romance with a unique plot, please feel free to check it out, especially since the first book in the series (Close Liaisons) is available for free everywhere. Keep in mind, though, Dima Zales’s books are going to be much more PG 13 . . . at least that’s the plan for now.

Anna Zaires is the love of his life and a huge inspiration in every aspect of his writing. She definitely adds her magic touch to anything Dima creates, and the books would not be the same without her.  Praise for the Author:

Goodreads Praise for Once A Bad Girl : Once A Bad Girl is an amazing debut by author Jane O’Reilly. It is actually hard to believe that it is a debut novel. The interlaced humour and sensuality in this story sucked me in from the start and held me captive throughout…”.
