Synopisis:
Ceri thinks she sees angels…everywhere. She struggles to keep separate what feels like two very different sides to her life. As a manager in an advertising company she’s been working with the gorgeous Alex for two years. The have a friendship based upon the image she portrays whilst she’s at work and it helps to keep her sane. One mad, crazy night spent sharing their secrets and a lot of wine result in them ending up in bed together and their relationship changes. When Alex explains that the reason he doesn’t date is because someone broke his heart, how can Ceri admit that she feels a deep connection to him?

Ceri knows she’s different. What she doesn’t fully appreciate is that her task in life is to correct a series of incidents that alter the course of many of the people’s lives with whom she comes into contact. She’s simply putting right little errors that could ripple outwards and change the course of their destiny. However; when she finds herself getting pulled into things that happen around her, how can she prove that she really has made a difference? Is it all in her head?

She’s alone for a reason; she’s not meant to fall in love in her earthly life. Alex is supposed to cross paths with her and help Ceri during a phase where she begins to question the signs she’s being given. It’s meant to be a turning point for them both—but in opposite directions. They are destined to travel very different paths…but Ceri doesn’t know that and neither does Alex…

“No one chooses to see angels, why would they?”

This is a romance story that explores the possibility of there being something more than just the ‘here and now’. If that were the case, how would it work? What keeps us on the path determined for us, when we have free will? How would the spirit world link with us as we go about our lives? Love is a powerful emotion, but can it change the course of someone’s destiny? Ceri is ‘Falling’…

coverMy Thoughts:
This book was very different to how I expected it to be. it was definitely a lot more realistic than i was expecting.

I thought Ceri was an excellent character. I really felt for her. She has clearly affected by everything she’s been through. she is a genuinely good person.

I thought Alex was  awesome. They are clearly meant to be together. I absolutely loved hearing his side of the story. I always find it great to see other people’s perspective on things.

Seb and Sheena were excellent. I really liked how Ceri could feel how Seb felt, that they had this special twin bond. Being away from your best friends is hard. After university all my friends went back to their respective home towns and we don’t get to see each other as much. Sometimes that can be a real strain on the relationship. I thought it was really great how even though Sheena is away a lot they never become distant.

For some reason I really don’t trust Mark. I don’t know what it is but I just have this feeling he’s trouble. I’m worried he’s taking advantage of her. Since reading Forbidden I trust Mark a lot more.

I thought Ethan’s explanation of that was happening to Ceri was perfect. He clearly understood what was going on.

I’m looking forward to reading Forbidden as this book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.

  1. Linn, you know how many books I have on my TBR pile – but I promise you, this is one I’m keeping an eye on, and intend to read soon.
I’m currently 2/3 of the way through another of your books, Never Alone, and am finding it hard to put down! I know the Angels Among Us series will be just as compelling. 🙂

Lovely, thoughtful review, Emma (and pleased to meet you lol).

    • Thank you so much, Joanna! That’s very kind of you. The Angels Among Us series took a long time to research (3 years) as I wanted the explanation in Forbidden, part 2, on how ‘angels’ might work to tie in with what I’ve personally experienced AND what a number of other people also believe might be the case. I also attended two Gayatri Mantra chanting sessions for one of the chapters and I must admit I learn a lot. Whilst the main emphasis is on the romance, I didn’t want the ethereal bit to be pure fantasy, or border on the sci-fi. However, I understand that people who don’t believe in the existence of life after death might feel it’s pure fantasy anyway, but that’s fine too. The path to believing is a long one, but everyone has to start wondering ‘what if?’ first!

      • Yes, they do! And beliefs can change as circumstances arise and evolve. I never believed in the power of crystals or anything metaphysical before my first husband died. After that, developing M.E. led me to Reiki and energy-work and accessing deeper levels of intuition and knowing. I love this new level of understanding, so your books do resonate particularly strongly with me. 🙂 x

      • That’s so wonderful to hear, Joanna. It took me a looooong time to ‘come out’ and admit I was a believer, then face up to what that meant. It’s so much easier to be a sceptic and ignore each incident – but each one never left me. I too use crystals, but only for personal use, and after numerous shared experiences Lawrence and I now have something new to ‘share’. It makes you look at everything in a different way and I wouldn’t change that for the world! Once you’ve taken a step on that path everything becomes much more meaningful. I’ve met so many ‘intuitive’ people who suffer from ill-health that I have my own theory on that, but sending positive karma your way! Lxx

  2. Thank you for such a lovely and well-thought-out review! I always try very hard to let my stories mirror real-life. That’s why I write about the psychic side of things because it is a part of my daily life. But what interests me too, is the way that something that happens can be viewed quite differently, depending upon the person observing. Often that is coloured by their own experiences and that’s what makes life’s journey very complicated at times. I really appreciate you being a part of my Fiction Addiction Tour – thanks so much!
